FAITH – THE BASIS OF UPBRINGING IN PETKO SLAVEIKOV’S “PCHELITSA”
The study deals with the educational and religious elements of Petko Slaveikov’s Revival children’s magazine “Pchelitsa”. Their presence is conditioned by the author’s views on the role of the child in social construction and the need to integrate them into Christianity. The text aims to highlight the guiding principles in the creation of the faith related publications. Several main themes are identified, united by Christian themes. These are God, duty to others, abstract concepts, Holy Scripture, the prayer, and the man.

Maria Karakoleva holds a Bachelor's degree in Bulgarian Philology from Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski". She is a teacher of Bulgarian language and literature. Her research interests focus on literature as a socially significant phenomenon that both reflects and directs social and historical processes. Her work explores the intersections of literature with pedagogy, cinema, theatre, and history.
