Travelling and friendship are the foundation narrative motives of N. Kazantzakis’ famous novel “Alexis Zorbas”. But they give strong impetus to H. Miller’s pen in his world-famous travelogue “The Colossus of Marоussi”, which became a symbol of philhellenism. The two classical literary works analyze the problems of (Greek, but not only) identity from both individual and socio-cultural point of view. In this article the 237concept of the remake is understood as a (re)making or a (re)creation of the Greek identity mostly in the context of universal moral categories, which unexpectedly gave the books “Alexis Zorbas” and “The Colossus of Maroussi” a long lasting popularity.

Фотини Христакуди-Константиниду, родена през 1977 г., е доктор по литературознание и доцент по новогръцки език и литература в Катедра „Общо, индоевропейско и балканско езикознание“ към Факултета по славянски филологии в СУ „Св. Климент Охридски“. Изследванията ѝ се простират в областта на рецепцията на символизма в новогръцката поезия чрез творчеството на няколко поредни поетични поколения, проблемите на диглосията и утвърждаването на димотики като език на художествената литература, на проблематика, свързана със сравнителното литературознание, а също така има публикации върху творчеството на Н. Вапцаров и В. Петров в гръцки научни списания. Автор е на книгите „Символизмът и новогръцката поезия от края на XIX и началото на ХХ в.“ (2020) и „Проблеми на гръцкия литературен развой 1880-1930 (eтюди върху новогръцката поезия)“ (2020).
